Blue water seminar at the boat

Are you still dreaming or are you already planning?

I spent the weekend from January 21st to January 22nd, 2023 at the Blauwasser seminar from Blauwasser.de .

My goal was to find out what is important for a long voyage. Since the SY Viserion has not yet been built and is not yet planned, it was particularly important to me to find out what needs to be considered when equipping the yacht. The topics of hull, keel shape, engine, autopilot, sailing equipment, on-board electrics, etc., to name just a few, were important to me.

But the other topics such as safety, medicine and travel planning were also very informative and actually motivated us to set off straight away. Fortunately, yacht builders currently all have delivery times of several years.

Sönke Röver and his team have once again put on a fantastic event. The 200 or so participants were extremely enthusiastic. I had no idea that so many people were interested in this great topic.

Here is the program:

  1. Choosing the right blue water yacht

  2. Bluewater sailing - what do you need to pay attention to?

  3. Bluewater weather

  4. Equipment - What do you really need?

  5. Seasickness: understand, recognize, treat and avoid

  6. Crew management with Jimmy Cornell

  7. Communication on a long-distance yacht

  8. Medical preparation and on-board pharmacy

  9. Safety on board

  10. Energy management on a blue water yacht

  11. Blue water everyday life and costs
